Dave Skelton, flute

Dave is no stranger to a “challenge”, by grade seven, he was in the High School Orchestra and Band; by grade nine, was in the Sarnia Citizens’ Band; by grade 11 was in the International Symphony, all as a trained flute/piccolo player.

When the GBCO formed, Dave became a charter member and player, then added to his workload, the job of operations manager of the group, a position he held for many years.

Eventually, all three “Skelton boys” joined and played in the group, so rehearsals and concerts created family outings.

Dave is still “at it”, being the “oldest” player in the GBS.

By profession Dave is a retired Electronic Technologist, having several enjoyable other interests, the GBS, the Owen Sound Band, the Sydenham Sportsman Association, the Bruce Trail Club, the Bruce County Astronomy Club, BALL, coaching youth Basketball.

His motto is: keep busy, keep active, learn from the past, look forward.
