Francois Koh, Georgian Bay Symphony, classical music, Owen Sound, orchestra

Dear Music Fans,

Welcome to the 2022-23 season of the Georgian Bay Symphony!

What a great pleasure to come back to full live orchestra performances this year! I’m thrilled to announce the repertoire of our 50+1 season and introduce our guest artists.

We have selected five-word themes: Roots, Joy, Reunion, Dreams, and Reconciliation - to celebrate each concert of this season.

We have invited many talented guest artists including our Concertmaster Lucia Barcari, our dear friend, the previous Concertmaster Paul Earle, internationally renowned concert pianist Sheng Cai, and our previous guest Concertmaster Aysel Taghi-Zada. I’m also pleased to present Owen Sound-born composer, Steve Sauder, Indigenous project Group “Unsettled Scores”, and  Elder Shirley John who will give a beautiful Water Talk at the May 22 concert.

During the season, we will also present our alumni, past presidents and people who contributed to the development of the Georgian Bay Symphony, at the concerts.  I hope all of us welcome them warmly.

Please share our upcoming season information with your family, friends and neighbours so we can celebrate our 50+ 1 season together.

Thank you for supporting the Georgian Bay Symphony. I sincerely look forward to meeting all of you at the concerts!

Yours truly,

François Koh, Music Director
