Youth Award Recipients

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2017-18 Georgian Bay Symphony Youth Awards!

The GBS has been fortunate to work with several talented young musicians, who have demonstrated their passion for music throughout the year.

The Hermon Dilmore Award has been awarded to Sean Nicholson, Clarinet and Isaac Zettler, Percussion. Thanks to Long & McQuade Music Stores and Mr & Mrs Hood for supporting this award

Sean Nicholson attends St. Mary's High School and is going into grade 12. He started playing with the Georgian Bay Symphony in the spring of 2017. Sean's instrument is clarinet and his teacher is principal clarinet of the GBS, Rob Tite. Sean started playing clarinet about 6 years ago and still loves it as much as he did when he first began his studies.

Isaac Zettler is a percussionist/timpanist. He's been playing percussion for 7 years now including several years with the GBS Youth Orchestra. Isaac is beginning his fourth year with the orchestra. "The GBS has given me many opportunities to improve my skills with challenging music and professional musicians to work with."
