Musicians Wanted
The Symphony is looking for new players.
Do you play a brass or string instrument? Want to meet new people, play some amazing repertoire, and have fun? Then the Georgian Bay Symphony might be for you.
The Georgian Bay Symphony is a community orchestra. 80% of our playing members are dedicated volunteers, supported by a core group of professional musicians. We welcome musicians from all backgrounds and walks of life. The orchestra is open to new members particularly brass, strings, and percussion. Student musicians receive volunteer hours for performing with the GBS.
Playing as a volunteer musician is an enriching and challenging experience with opportunities for professional mentorship and musical growth. The GBS will perform 5 concerts this season with an average of 6 rehearsals per concert. Rehearsals are every Wednesday night, beginning September 20th, from 7-10pm plus a dress rehearsal the day of the concert. Rehearsals and concerts are at East Ridge Community School in Owen Sound.
