Why We Support the Arts

Seasons Owen Sound is proud to sponsor the Georgian Bay Symphony. GBS encourages the appreciation of classical music in the Grey Bruce Owen Sound area and plays an important role in promoting the talents of the many skilled, community musicians who perform there.

Seasons believes strongly in supporting organizations in the communities where we operate retirement residences. Our staff and residents are patrons of local arts, and many of our residents are talented, retired musicians themselves. By supporting the GBS we are reflecting our corporate values, as well as the values of those who live and work in our homes.

Music has great benefits for people of all ages. Many studies on music and its relation to the elderly demonstrate remarkable psychological benefits, including, but not limited to, reduced tension and anxiety, increased memory function, bettered social interaction and a happier outlook on life. Seasons Owen Sound incorporates music into many of our programs and events. We often have local performers come to our home to entertain our residents and we plan excursions to see live performances such as those at GBS.

It was an easy decision for Seasons Owen Sound to support the distinguished Georgian Bay Symphony: Its reputation as a premier arts organization makes the GBS a local treasure that we are forever fortunate to have in our community.
