Community Musicians Welcome to Join

We accept new members throughout the season. Auditions are not necessary. Players must be able to read music, and typically have several years of playing experience. Students welcome.

Come and join us. Playing as a volunteer musician is an enriching and challenging experience. You would be joining a group of over 40 other community musicians with opportunities to meet new people, be mentored by professional players and grow your own musical talent. And of course play some incredible music.

Each season, the GBS performs five full-length concerts.

As a community orchestra, 90% of our playing members are dedicated volunteers, supported by a core group of professional musicians. We welcome musicians from all backgrounds and walks of life. All orchestral instruments are welcome however this season we are particularly open to 2nd violin, percussion, and trumpet players.

Rehearsals

We rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7-9:30 pm at East Ridge Community School, 1550 8^th Street East, Owen Sound. Rehearsals start on the 17^th September until the final concert in May. Additionally there is a dress rehearsal on the day of each concert.
