Co Op Blog : Vintners' Dinner to From Russia With Love
The past couple weeks have been very busy at the symphony’s office. Following the success of the Vintners’ Dinner and Wine Auction, we have also been preparing for next season.
After months of preparation (collecting items for the silent and live auctions, contacting wineries, preparing the guest list and reviewing every small detail that could be a factor in its success), the Vintners’ Dinner and Wine Auction went very well. Many guests commented that the food was the best they have ever had at one of these events, and the wines served alongside the food were a huge hit. Lots of impressive and one-of-a-kind items were included in the auction, from paintings to antique chairs to high end wine and so on.
Our next project, following this event, is to prepare for the Georgian Bay Symphony’s 46th season beginning fall of 2017. This has included choosing appropriate dates and names for each of the five concerts, creating the tickets, organizing subscription lists and beginning to create the programs for the season. We look forward to sharing this at the GBS’ final concert of the season, From Russia With Love.
The excitement surrounding From Russia With Love is evident, as we are still over a week away from it and are getting closer to selling out every day. With pieces like Mussorgsky’s Night On Bald Mountain and Tchaikovsky’s Andante Cantabile, this will likely be one of the most popular symphony concerts of the year.
