2022 Burton Morrison Award Winner


Maestro Koh and the Georgian Bay Symphony are please to award this year's Burton Morrison Award to Zoe McKittrick.


Zoe McKittrick is graduating from Owen Sound District Secondary School as an honours French-immersion student. She has studied the cello for six years and has recently completed her Grade eight RCM exam. She is also an enthusiastic choral singer and a devoted ballet and highland dancer. In the fall, she plans to start her studies in Public Administration at the University of Ottawa while continuing to carry on in her music studies . She is delighted to have had the opportunity to play with the Georgian Bay Symphony for two wonderful years. .






Burton Morrison was a founding member of the GBS and played first Violin with us for over 25 years. A teacher by profession, he was especially interested in helping and encouraging young people. This award, named after a founding member of the symphony, is given to a student who has played with GBS but will be leaving to pursue a post secondary education
