2023-24 Season: 52 years of music!

The 50 + 1 Celebratory Season is behind us but there is lot to celebrate as the Georgian Bay Symphony takes to the stage for its 52nd season.

Highlights of the 2023 - 24 season include a Hallowe’en evening of spooky tunes with a classical ghost or two haunting the OSCVI auditorium. The Symphony will welcome the Yuletide with seasonal favorites and our traditional carol sing-a-long. Youth and old alike are welcome to our afternoon Christmas concert with special guests especially for children. Family Day in February will provide an afternoon in a galaxy far far away with contemporary favorites and some classical star-gazing. And the Symphony will welcome spring in April with a programme of classical pieces inspired by the end of winter and the reawakening of nature in the spring. And for the final concert of the season we will welcome two local heroes of the musical community and old friends of the Orchestra - Kati Gleiser on piano and Sebastian Ostertag on cello - each performing a concerto with the symphony.

The Georgian Bay Symphony is also excited to announce that the search for a new artistic director is underway. Successful candidates will be conducting rehearsals and a concert as part of our 52nd season. The Board of Directors and a committee of musicians have been at work selecting possible conductors who will provide the orchestra with the leadership to continue the Georgian Bay Symphony’s commitment to providing a classical musical experience to the region.

Join us as we embark on a season of exciting music and select a new conductor with a fresh artistic vision for the Georgian Bay Symphony.
